“Só Pra Desconstruir” [Just to Deconstruct]
We have been living the unacceptable for a long time. Degradation of the planet, social injustices, inequalities of fortune, radical impoverishment, a predatory and unbridled capitalism of accumulation and concentration of wealth, which is enslaving and usurper of thousands of lives that are dominated by debt and exposed to penury and to the arithmetic and icy miserability of economic decision-makers. To maintain this way of life is suicidal, the Covid 19 pandemic has proven it. The quarantine has been decoupling the productive chains that we were already used to follow, however absurdly lethal they may have been. We have found ourselves lost in this normality of exploitation and inequality. Michel Foucault once defined capitalism as an ethics, a system of values, beliefs, and habits, so no matter how immutable it may seem, it is not actually. We believe we are experiencing a breach, a possibility to create or forge other conducts that can make the old control mechanisms obsolete, and especially not to create another normality of extreme exploitation and inequality, and lethal degradation of labor.

The project was contemplated with the hosting of CASA DUNA - CENTRO DE ARTE, PESQUISA E MEMÓRIA [Art, Research and Memory Center]. Due to the present moment of distance and social isolation, the project will start under the format of interviews and pleasant conversations with the artists-thinkers, conducted by Andrea Mello at Instagram of CASA DUNA.

Is a curatorial research of films that expose the human relationship with the planet, the deterioration of the environment, the imbalances caused by the abuses committed and the danger of extinction of animal and plant life. We selected audiovisual works that are powerful tools for both the critical bias and the fight for environmental awareness, for the expansion of the preservation message and that present other ways of integrating the ecosystem.
